R goes Web2.0
I was positively surprised to read that there is a useR meetup in San Francisco that is being sponsored by twitter. So, it seems that some of the top web service companies in the States are seeing the potential of R.
The topic of the meetup is R-powered Web Apps. In particular Jeroen Ooms will be presenting his super slick javascripted (ext.js) web frontend for the visualization package ggplot2.
Check out this video demo, or go straight to the online app and try it out yourself.
pretty neat, isn’t it?
Update: Ok, shame on me. It seems that Google, Facebook & Co are using R already for quite a while, and this is rather old news. Read more here.
